Rainy Friday Fun...

It's pouring down rain today. And I didn't have ANYthing planned for these kiddos. So I improvised, and here's a little bit of what we came up with...

Our day began with some playing in the rain. Naomi wasn't interested, so while Isaac frolicked outside, she danced and played happily with her baby dolls inside. :) Isaac was very proud of some of his discoveries, and kept saying, "I'm really enjoying this! I LOVE the rain!"

He found a slug, among other things! :)

By the end of his time, he was shivering and asked to come inside. :)

They also enjoyed some quiet playtime together while I took care of the baby...

Decided to talk about the color ORANGE, and ate all orange things for lunch.

Our new reward system is working quite well. Found it here.

Isaac filled his jar of balls for the first time today, and chose to have a piece of gum as his reward. Naomi's is close to filling up too. It's fun to reward them for the good things they do throughout the day. And it's also encouraging them to take their responsibilities seriously (like clearing their dishes from the table, putting their shoes where they go, or feeding the dog). Isaac is pretty excited about it too, as he tells everyone he meets, "I have balls, but I don't get to play with them." He doesn't understand their confusion and why I must further explain it. :)

Then we did some school-ish activities, by request of the kiddos.

Dice rolling, counting, ripping paper into correct number of pieces, then more counting.

Animal counting and sorting.

Color sorting.

Hot Dots Jr. activities. (Too easy for him)

But just right for her.

Now they are having some quiet time in their rooms, while I enjoy some quiet time to myself. We'll probably watch a movie while eating some popcorn this afternoon, and we're planning to go out to a fun, 4-story playground/bounce zone this evening, which should make for LOTS of fun! :)
