Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful, hard-working, never-feeling-like-you're-good-enough, completely exhausted, fed-up, had-it-up-to-here, feel-like-giving-up, totally stressed, imperfect, but forever-loving-on-those-kiddos MOMS out there!
I think there should totally be more than ONE little day each year to celebrate mothers. I mean...c'mon, without moms, where would this world be? We are the everyday heroes...saving the lives of little children just about every day of our lives. We not only see to it that our children survive...but we work our butts off to help them THRIVE!
We are not JUST moms. We are storytellers, librarians, judges, actresses, role models, referees, tour guides, coaches, doctors, photographers, gardeners, musicians, bodyguards, chauffeurs, nurses, fitness instructors, lifeguards, chefs, hairdressers, artists, teachers, housekeepers, office managers, caretakers, preachers, inventors, authors, dancers, and students. We are moms, but we wear MANY hats with respect to our children.
There are days in which many of us feel like throwing our hands up in the air and just walking away. But this is one job in which quitting is NOT an option. And it is the unfathomable, unconditional love within our hearts that keeps us going. How is it that these little people can wreak so much havoc in our hearts? But they do. And so today, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for not giving up!
One of my favorite quotes is: "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." To all of you mommies, out there...you ARE the world to your children! Never forget that! And praise be to God for loving US no matter what...and giving us a picture of a perfect, loving parent! Without HIS help, I'm not sure where I'd be!
