I have recently been asking what homeschooling curriculum we are going with. Given that we're starting with Pre-K...I don't feel a ton of pressure this next year. When Isaac starts Kindergarten, then decisions will definitely become a little more difficult. I think I spent WAY more than I should have for Preschool. I went with the
Horizons Preschool Complete Curriculum and Multimedia Set by
Alpha Omega Publishing. It looks like a wonderful set, and I am actually quite excited to jump in this fall! One week after making this purchase, I found the
Letter of the Week curriculum, and LOVE it. So I spent another $10 for that one as well! :) We'll see how it goes!
Anyway, I recently placed a decent-sized Amazon order to get some new materials for our preschool home school. According to my husband, we have enough STUFF to run an entire preschool from our home! LOL. What can I say...I'm a total sucker for preschool toys and games! And I have assured him that as they get older, they will not require as many different types of manipulative toys and games. I hope I am right! Isaac just keeps us on our toes, because once he's mastered a toy or activity, he's done with it. Sometimes it takes him 5 minutes, and others it may take a couple of days. But once he's figured something out, he doesn't care to even try it again. Not sure how to go about correcting this behavior. I keep up with a weekly toy rotation and that does help some with fighting off boredom.
So without further ado, here is our list of recently purchased items that I CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on!! :)

Math Snap and Counting Cubes |
We've already had packages starting to arrive...and it has been SO MUCH FUN! :) Isaac and Naomi BOTH just LOVED the creative peg board. I am going to wait on introducing some of the things, and just gradually add them to our toy/activity rotation. I am especially excited to get the knobless cylinders, because Isaac got to play with them at his montessori preschool last fall and LOVED them! :) I will also be ordering some new furniture for our school room. Here are a few of the pieces:

Sling bookshelf...but the cloth is actually beige, not primary-colored. :) |

So far, I *think* this is the table I want to get. I still may change my mind, though. |
 |
I will be getting TWO of these workbox carts to help organize our daily school activities. |
Okay...I think that's about it for now! Please feel free to ask any questions or leave suggestions for me!! :) I am obviously very new to all of this, but I'm SUPER excited to design a fun, beautiful space for learning that our children will grow in!
Hey girl, I love your selections. So much fun and learning for your kiddos. I saw that you weren't sure on the table. Can I suggest a kidney shaped table? It was my favorite in my PK class. You can easily work with both kids on different activities if needed but it gives lots of space for independent work as well. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteOOoooh...GREAT suggestion! I hadn't even considered that kind of table! Off to look at more! :) Thanks!! :)
