Valentines Activities...

Just a couple of things that we did this week...

Fuzzy Dice Math Game
Each kid got to roll their dice across the living room. Then they ran to quickly count how many hearts they rolled. Then they had to determine who's dice had more hearts, and whoever rolled the higher number "won" that round. We did this over and over.

Sound Box Challenge
I filled these small plastic candy boxes in pairs with various things like rice, pennies, beans, etc. They had to shake them to match the sounds. This was easy and did not hold their attention for more than one round.

Heart Bracelets
I had a difficult time coming up with creative ways to use these cute little things. They enjoyed playing with them, counting them, and sorting them by color. We probably could have done some tracing and/or art activity with them as well, but haven't gotten around to that yet. :)

We are still technically on my maternity break from homeschooling (hence the severe lack of posts). But I am itching to do new and interesting things with them. Isaac has shown lots of interest in different things lately...namely outer space and various forms of earth science. He also enjoys doing mazes and playing a game on my phone called "Monkey Math." I plan to begin working with them more diligently next month...starting in on memorizing our phone number and continued work on number and letter recognition. :)
